Cloudflare joins the Astroverse with $150k support ☁️

Astro is officially on a funding streak.

A week after Webflow’s $150k donation, Cloudflare has matched it — bringing $300,000 of new investment into Astro in only two weeks.

Beyond the cash, Cloudflare is now an official hosting partner, which means even tighter integrations between Astro and their platform.

Astro 5.14: a harvest of new features 🍂

Astro 5.14 is here, and it’s a bumper release packed with routing upgrades, framework support, and DX improvements. Here’s what’s new:

• ⚠️ Prerendered route collision warnings – spot and fix dynamic routing conflicts early, or fail builds with a new experimental flag.

• 🗺 Route patterns in getStaticPaths – get access to the original route definition to better localize or customize static paths.

• 🌀 Async rendering in Svelte – server-render await directly in Svelte 5.36 components.

• ⚛️ React 19 Actions integration – first-class support for useActionState with Astro Actions.

• 🖼 SvgComponent type – built-in typing for SVG imports.

• 🗄 Non-Node libSQL for Astro DB – run DB on Cloudflare and Deno with the new mode:'web' option.

• 🧭 Sitemap namespaces config – trim unnecessary XML for cleaner SEO.

• 🔠 Programmatic font data – low-level access via the Fonts API, handy for OG image generation.
