Hello, Astronauts!

Astro’s new TSC: Steering into 2025 🛠️

Last week’s Astro Launch Week brought a flurry of big announcements, including the release of Astro 5.7 and the launch of the Astro Agency Partner Program.

But there was one more important update you might have missed: Astro now has a newly updated Technical Steering Committee (TSC) for 2025.

The updated TSC includes Emanuele Stoppa, Florian Lefebvre, Matt Kane, and returning member Matthew Phillips, with Matt Kane also stepping up as framework team lead.

Sarah Rainsberger continues as docs team lead, helping to guide the evolution of both Astro’s code and documentation.

This new structure gives our most active core contributors the well-earned autonomy and responsibility to own the health of the codebase going forward (and frees me up to focus even more of my time on project stewardship, finding new partnerships, sponsors, etc.)

Fred K. Schott, Astro co-creator

What is the role of the TSC?

The TSC is a small group of trusted core contributors responsible for steering the Astro codebase. A refreshed governance model caps the TSC at five members and gives active contributors even greater leadership over the project’s future.

You can learn more about Astro’s governance model model on GitHub.
